What is Bupron SR 150 Tablet?
Bupron SR 150 Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Bupropion. It is used in the treatment of depression, seasonal affective disorder (depression associated with a change in season, usually during late autumn and winter), and to help in smoking cessation. Bupron SR 150 Tablet works by increasing the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that helps in regulating mood, thus helping to alleviate the symptoms of depression. The mechanism of action in treating smoking addiction is not fully understood.
Bupron SR 150 Tablet may cause common side effects like sleep problems, difficulty concentrating, sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, abdominal pain, anxiety, agitation, tremor, constipation, weight loss, etc. Inform your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Bupron SR 150 Tablet may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive vehicles or operate heavy machines when taking this medicine. Avoid consuming alcohol during treatment with this medicine as it may increase the risk of side effects.
Bupron SR 150 Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day for ease of remembering. Inform your doctor if you have or have had head injuries, high blood pressure, angle-closure glaucoma (an eye condition that develops when the structure inside the eye that allows the draining of the fluid from the eye gets blocked, causing an increase in fluid pressure inside the eyes), or liver, kidney, or heart problems before starting the treatment with this medicine.
Bupron SR 150 Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age due to the lack of safety and efficacy data. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
