WHAT IS MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET

MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET contains Modafinil, which belongs to a group of medicines known as Psychostimulants. It is used for the treatment of Narcolepsy in adult patients. MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET is also used for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea (obstruction of the airway during sleep), circadian rhythm sleep disorder and shift work disorder.



MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from uncontrolled or moderate to severe high blood pressure and arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat) or who had a heart attack. MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET, should be used with caution in patients who have had liver diseases, kidney diseases, depression, anxiety, low mood, psychosis, mania, bipolar disorder, are alcoholic and recreational drug abuse.

HOW MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET WORKS

Modafinil is a psychostimulant which acts on Orexin neurons. Orexin neurons are nerve cells found in the brain which regulate sleep/wake states. Modafinil activates orexin neurons and hence induces wakefulness and reduces the likelihood that you will have sleep attacks.

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take MODAFIL MD 200MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Consume the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of treatment for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
